What’s It Mean to be Plant-Based

Plantbased diets emphasize minimally processed foods from plants, with modest amounts of fish, lean meat and low-fat dairy, and red meat only sparingly. A strict plant-based diet means eating no animal products (aka veganism), but not everything is black and white.

plant-based lifestyle is one consisting mostly or entirely of foods derived from plants, including vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and fruits, and with few or no animal products.

When I found all the benefits that we can realize by what we consume, I began on a quest to find the best combination of foods that God intended for us to eat to fuel my body. We have been created to be alkaline and to thrive off of alkaline resources from our natural environment.

Vegan Lifestyle vs Vegan Trend

One of the hottest trends of all-time is veganism. What I believe was once a lifestyle that one created for themselves to become healthier, has become trendy to be “cool”.

The problem with that is the people that follow trends to be “cool” always get themselves in trouble because they tend to not do enough research on how to do it right. So they rush out to buy some Beyond the Meat and their “I am Vegan” t-shirt and start posting their vegan selfies to #socialmedia.

Becoming plant-based or “vegan” takes research to understand what nutrients, minerals and vitamins need to be supplemented in order to achieve and/or maintain optimal health from this lifestyle. I know this because of a few failed attempts during the fight of my life and while on chemotherapy.
